That was exactly what I asked too when I heard a group of ‘serious tweeters’ were coming down to visit Wollongong on a ‘RoadTwip’. Being the creators of the Grand Pacific Drive, we’re certainly big advocators of roadtrips…but a ‘RoadTwip’??

It all came to light when Emma, a friendly media producer from Klick, explained that several groups had been formed to travel various routes between Sydney and Melbourne between April 30 and May 3. These teams would Tweet, blog and post pics to Flickr along the way and therefore share the experiences of their journey to the world in real-time.

Were we keen to be involved…or were we keen to be involved?!!!! (We couldn’t sign up quick enough).

‘Team Mal’, headed up by Mal (no surprises there!) and the energetic Chris and Alison, were the (we think!) lucky group allocated to travel the Grand Pacific Drive, Wollongong, Kiama and further south to Narooma.

I had the pleasure of meeting these guys, twice, when they travelled through Wollongong and it reminded me how great it is to meet people who are experiencing the destination for the first time. Plus they were pretty great people too which added to the fun.

So in celebration of Chris completing his final blog for the trip, we thought we would share their experience with you….
