We Love The Gong

We’re constantly getting emails via this site telling us what you love about the Gong.

 We wanted to share some of them with you and thank those who sent them to us….it’s great to read about all the different reasons why people love Wollongong.

 ”I love the freedom of being able to walk of ride to the beach. Easy access to them and some may to choose from. My other love is going upto the Wollongong motorcycle clubs motocross track every week. Awesome track, great club and lots of different people”.

I don’t know whether it is because of the beautiful beaches and surrounding escarpment or the diversity in the ages or work and cultural backgrounds of it’s people, it is a wonderful place to live. I simply just ‘Love the Gong’”.

 ”You cannot live in a more diverse beautiful place in Australia than the Gong. Apart from being the only city right on the beach it is only minutes from the bush and a few hours from two of our major cities, Canberra and Sydney. It caters for all ages with a world class University, a proud blue collar heritage and a growing number of retirees all living in a multicultural community. Need I say more. Oh, I also should mention it is the home of the mighty St George Illawarra Dragons as well”.

 ”I instantly “heart”ed the lush and leafy Gong when I recently arrived from New Zealand to take up a short term teaching post…the best though, was when my wife visited and immediately fell in love with the place…our new favourite Gong experience, fish & chips from Le Vendi’s down at the harbourside. …Gong-tastic!! ”
